Massless Sine–Gordon and Massive Thirring Models: Proof of the Coleman’s Eequivalence
We prove the Coleman’s conjecture on the equivalence between the massless Sine-Gordon model with finite volume interaction and the Thirring model with a finite volume mass term.
متن کاملEquivalence of the Sine-Gordon and Massive Thirring Models at Finite Temperature
Using the path-integral approach, the quantum massive Thirring and sine-Gordon models are proven to be equivalent at finite temperature. This result is an extension of Coleman’s proof of the equivalence between both theories at zero temperature. The usual identifications among the parameters of these models also remain valid at T 6= 0.
متن کاملOn the equivalence between sine–Gordon model and Thirring model in the chirally broken phase of the Thirring model
We investigate the equivalence between Thirring model and sine–Gordon model in the chirally broken phase of the Thirring model. This is unlike all other available approaches where the fermion fields of the Thirring model were quantized in the chiral symmetric phase. In the path integral approach we show that the bosonized version of the massless Thirring model is described by a quantum field th...
متن کاملThermal Bosonisation in the Sine-gordon and Massive Thirring Models
We study bosonisation in the massive Thirring and sine-Gordon models at finite temperature T and nonzero fermion chemical potential µ. For that purpose we use both canonical operator and path integral approaches, paying particular attention to the issues of thermal normal ordering and renormalisation. At T > 0 and µ = 0, the massive Thirring model bosonises to the sine-Gordon model with the sam...
متن کاملBosonization of massless free fermion fields We are going to write an explicit expression for a massless free fermion field as a non-local function of a free massless pseudo-scalar
The kinematical constraints on field theories in two space-time dimensions lead to many unusual effects which have no analogue in higher dimensions. Perhaps the strangest of these is the equivalence between large classes of Bose and Fermi field theories. This correspondence, which has been dubbed bosonization, provides a transparent unified method for solving two dimensional Fermi theories [ l*...
